When adding a glider to your outdoor space, we recommend leaving about 2 feet of clearance in front of the glider and 2 feet of clearance behind the glider.
When adding a swing to your outdoor space we recommend leaving at least 5 feet of clearance in front of the swing and at least 5 feet of clearance behind the swing.
The main difference between a glider and a swing is the way they are built and move. A glider is connected to a fixed base, causing the seat to move back and forth without moving vertically.
Swings hang on a porch or freestanding frame. They move back and forth as well but the swinging motion causes them to move up and down slightly too.
